This evergreen tree, with its elegant silhouette and light canopy, is one of the most iconic species of the Mediterranean coastal regions. With its slender trunk and reddish bark deeply fissured, the Aleppo Pine adapts perfectly to rocky soils and arid climates, bringing a touch of untamed beauty to parks and natural areas.

Pinus halepensis originates from the eastern Mediterranean but has spread across the region thanks to its ability to thrive in poor soils and withstand drought. It can grow up to 25 meters tall, with an irregular, often leaning canopy that adds to its picturesque appearance. The needles, thin and flexible, are light green and grow in pairs, while the cones are small, conical, and remain attached to the tree even after maturing.

This species plays a significant ecological role as it is often used for reforestation in degraded areas due to its ability to stabilize soils and prevent erosion. It is also a pioneer plant, capable of rapidly colonizing disturbed areas such as burnt or abandoned lands.
The specimen in the garden was stabilized during maintenance with a visible crown support system. The material used primarily consists of hollow cables made from braided synthetic polypropylene fibers (PP). Specifically, the patented COBRA® 4t system, manufactured in Germany, was employed (https://www.cobranet.de/en_US/).

The oval-conical strobili are 5-10 cm long and 2-3 cm wide.
